mini ROV DEEP TREKKER, model DTG3
As part of the Innovamare project, in which our company GEOmar Projekt Partner, within the equipment procurement budget, a state-of-the-art remote-controlled diver (ROV Remote operated vehicle) was purchased. The manufacturer is the Canadian company DEEP TREKKER and the model of the ROV is DTG3. This mini ROV with a reach of 200m depth is equipped with a USBL (Ultra Short Base Line) device for determining the position so that, in conjunction with the GNSS navigation system on the ship or on land, its georeferenced position is known at every moment of the recording. This compact device has a high-resolution camera (4K) and a laser scaler that serves to determine and measure smaller dimensions in the recording area. To detect objects in the immediate environment, especially in conditions of poor and zero visibility, the ROV is additionally equipped with TRITECH MICRON SCANNING sonar, which acts like an underwater radar. Among other additional possibilities, it is important to mention devices for collecting sea water samples for analysis and a mechanical arm for various tasks. The DTG3 mini ROV has a mass of only 8 kg in the air and meets all environmental standards because its operation does not require a large amount of electricity and the use of a diesel generator, it works on a voltage of 19.2 V direct current drawn from its own batteries with an autonomy of 4 hours. In short, this mini ROV is a device suitable for the tasks of observation, inspection, search, measurement and collection of samples in the sea and seabed, various underwater installations, buildings and objects, which is an important part of the contents and activities of the Innovamare project.
